RIYADH, Oct 15 (KUNA) -- Kuwait will establish the first crisis center in the Gulf area, Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry official and member of the coordination committee for the establishment of crisis centers in the GCCGCC, Abdullah Al-Mawid, said on Wednesday.

Al-Mawid told KUNA, after the third meeting for the coordination committee, that the center is the first in the region to deal with natural and humanitarian crises, enabling civil defense, emergency, fire and medical departments to work in united operation units in the case of a crisis in the Gulf.

He added, the meeting discussed technical issues concerning the center, that is aimed at establishing a team of researchers and experts to set future plans in dealing with crisis, and providing concerned sectors in the gulf with information during the crisis.

The GCCGCC Ministerial Council approved in its 105th session, that Kuwait will be the first country to establish the center.
