Bahrain: BD30m firm launched |

LSG Sky Chefs Catering Logistics (LCL), one of the subsidiaries of Lufthansa, and the Bahrain-based Maskati Group joined hands paving the way for establishment of BD30 million joint venture company called LSG Sky Chefs Gulf Solutions to be based in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The agreement signing ceremony to launch the JV formally in Bahrain was held at the Sheraton Hotel and attended by top officials of both sides.
The new company will provide supply chain management solutions including equipment procurement, ware-housing, local and global distribution to airlines, with Maskati focusing on warehousing and distribution and LCL on material planning/forecasting, order management, concept development, IT and finance.
According to the agreement the airline logistics operations, will be led by Khalid H. Al Maskati, the group's deputy chairman and managing director.
"This new venture is yet another milestone in expanding our presence in the thriving Middle East region," said Jochen Müller, LSG Sky Chefs' executive board member sales and solutions. "Our partnership with the Maskati Group gives us a clear competitive edge and we have great confidence in the further development of this trustful and highly valuable relationship," he added. Khalid H. Al Maskati said: "Today, we are happily sealing a long lasting relationship with a well known and respected international player in the aviation industry. Through this venture, the Maskati Group aims to contribute to the development of Bahrain as a logistics platform for the entire Middle East region. We are looking forward to contributing even further to the Bahraini economy with additional projects, together with LSG Sky Chefs."
