According to IRNA, in accordance with one of the articles of the agreement signed by the head of the Iranian Aviation Organization Ali-Reza Manzari and his Kuwaiti counterpart, the number of weekly Iran-Kuwait and Kuwait-Iran flights would increase from 14 to 21.

The two sides have meanwhile agreed to survey the potentials in the two countries within a six month period, aimed at adopting an appropriate strategy and mechanism to increase the current capacities for transferring passengers.

Manzari said during the ceremony held in Kuwait by the Airline of the Islamic Republic of Iran, HOMA, in the presence of the two countries' concerned officials, that signing the agreement was an important achievement and expressed hope that it would in near future lead to desirable developments in the field.

He meanwhile pointed out that despite the existing difficulties and obstacles, including the imposed sanctions, the number of air passengers has increased during the course of the recent years, adding, "During the past four years the number of air passenger has constantly increased at international scene 15 percent on average." Manzari meanwhile reiterated, "Currently 20 percent of demands for air travelling in Iran has remained unanswered and the government is ready for providing facilities and bonuses for potential investors in the field.
